We prepared our own Mitsubishi Lancer Evo X for rallying and took part in our first rally in 2012. Since then we have rallied every year and won the Tanzania National Rally Championship in 2014 and repeated this success in 2021/2022 when he took the title with Dave Sihoka as his co-driver.
“To win the national title twice was the pinnacle of my career, which also strengthened my resolve to achieve greater success,” he said and added, “I was inspired by the successes earned by my fellow Sikhs in East Africa at the international level and would endeavour to foster motor rallying spirit in our youth and ensure the sport’s flag was kept flying high for our community.” Given his passion for the sport, Sandhu was sure to be a good role model for the youth.
